CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Responsibilities:

  • ‪Design and implement configuration management best practices for app and software deployment

  • Strong expertise in 

    • Mobile app technology

    • E-Commerce platform understanding

    • Cloud and virtualization platforms (AWS, Azure, GCE, etc.)

    • Operating systems (Linux, Windows)

    • Infrastructure automation (Ansible, Chef, Packer, Puppet, SaltStack, Terraform, etc.), 

    • Application hosting technologies (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.). 

    • Version control and source code administration

  • Manage and design, build and deployment pipelines

  • Solid understanding of the practical application of DevOps philosophy, Agile methods, Infrastructure as Code, and leading infrastructure and operations teams in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment

  • Experience in designing and architecting enterprise and/or web-scale hosting platforms

  • Manage the DevOps team to build, maintain and scale a secure server infrastructure

  • Work closely with the development team on upcoming features to determine the correct infrastructure and related tools.

  • Assist the support team with escalated customer issues

  • Hands-on implementation work to get projects off the ground, evaluate and drive improvements to existing infrastructure, and to coach developers and infrastructure engineers

Must have/Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience working in Server Infrastructure management

  • 4+ years of experience setting up and monitoring uptime and performance management tools 

  • 2+ years of experience in managing teams

  • Experience with Continuous Development/Deployment/Integration design and best practices

  • Experience managing and working with configuration management tools (Chef, Salt Stack, Ansible)

  • Experience in Agile development practices (Kanban or Scrum)

  • Ability to see opportunities for improvement, take ownership and work closely with others to drive operational improvement

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to correlate system behaviors based on known interdependencies between those systems

  • Ability to handle ambiguity, embracing change, and helping others see it as an opportunity and ability to stay focused on goals while adapting to change
