Water Conservation| Respect WATER!| 6 Practices to JOIN WATER MOVEMENT...


It's been few years now, that we all have been totally petrified with the water scarcity situations around us. While Chennai has come out of the water crisis, Bangalore is also predicted to go into water crisis in times to come. However the awareness of water conservation is not prioritized... Recently when I interviewed Dr. Indra Sekhar Sen -Young scientist -Associate Professor IIT(Kanpur) really got a an insight of how across the country people are struggling to get access to water. As the privileged ones we should take the ownership to drive the movement for awareness to conserve WATER, soon to become a CHALLENGED RESOURCE, if we continue to waste and disrespect the water.


It was really wonderful to know that a very economical solution through, a device called PADMAVATI is going to be launched soon, to provide pure water across the length and breath of the country. (HAR GHAR NIRMAL JAL) Really nice to see Indian talent like Indra who are coming back to support various challenges that we face in the country. Water is one of the most important, if not the most important resource that humans use. Join the MOVEMENT TO RESPECT WATER by practicing some of the simple daily solutions around your homes to begin with.

6 Practices which can ensure that our future generations don't struggle for water...

  1. Fix leaky faucets, toilets, appliances and install rainwater harvesting-Leaks vary in amount, but they can account for a lot of wasted water over time. Also installing rainwater harvesting has become compulsory in most cities today.

  2. Laundry Efficiency- Your washing machine can swallow gallons of water, so make sure you use it wisely. Wait until you have enough clothing for a full load of laundry before starting the washer. If you need to wash a small load separately, adjust the water level on your machine accordingly. You can also resort to hand washing if you want to add life to your clothes and also your water conservation.

  3. Take a shower instead of a bath, and take shorter showers - If you shower for five minutes or less you will sure save 50% more water. If you do take a bath, try reusing some of the water in your garden; better still explore designing a bath around the garden!!

  4. Use less detergent or soaps etc - While washing clothes or vessels water can be minimized if you are being conscious of your soap usage. Try diluting the soap which also helps.

  5. Use plant species which need less water - Planting cactus, snake plants, pothos, succulents would sure need less water, and also less maintenance.

  6. Have a home energy audit -Professionals can catch places where water is being wasted, that the average consumer might miss. We can support you in getting connected to the right experts and professionals.
