On this beautiful occasion of Basant Panchami we also celebrate the two most important things in our life KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM, which are foundational pillars of quality life and prosperity. This is especially true in the Knowledge Economy where knowledge and wisdom are the basis of survival. Basant Panchami is dedicated to goddess of knowledge -wisdom -art -music, goddess Saraswati.

Today even PM Modi said in his speech, "... On this auspicious day, may Goddess Sarasvati bless everyone with knowledge, wisdom…" so its evident that right from government to organisations to individuals, everyone needs to be soaked into the blessed knowledge to create a successful existence and nation...

Quest and pursuit of knowledge has been an obsession for mankind from ancient times. However in current times in the Knowledge Economy, it's all about Intellectual property -innovation and knowledge management to progress and promote your purpose in life. Whether its health -wealth -career it all depends on how well you are able to manage your pace in learning and knowledge evolution.

  1. Reward & Recognise Knowledge Sharing practices -In organisations and also in communities we often appreciate and applaud people for their good deeds, which is a great start. Nonetheless if we tweak this practice of recognition by recognising people who are sharing or willing to share their secret sauce; a lot can change in organisations and societies. Appraisals can be better aligned when people have COLLABORATIVE MINDSET rather than COMPETITIVE mindset.

If you care for people skill them for their environment. When you cross skill people you not only sharpen their brain, you also add to their repertoire of skills.

However when you have reverse mentality you create mutual loss. The best examples in this regard are Amazon and Whatsapp while the former is a marketplace for millions who earn their livelihood through the platform the later became billionaire when Facebook bought them and each of the team members who collaborated were handsomely compensated.

  4. Creating your LEGACY through your sharing - Your sponsors are always people you would remember in your life. So when you create your legacy through sponsoring knowledge and support, you create immortality through people....

  5.
