6 Success Mindset ideas to be MINIMALISTIC practitioner

I think the best gift of the PANDEMIC has been to understand the beauty of MINIMALISM! “Simplicity, clarity, singleness...These are the attributes that give our lives purpose, prosperity, performance, productivity and pace which also facilitates satisfaction and Success. In consumerist society where every second day a new product -idea etc is being launched the only way to thrive is to market them with a proposition that if they are not being used by you, you are losing out on life. Now the decision is really ours how much we would like to be swayed by the same. On one side we have people in our country who don't get proper education, nutrition, basics of living ...and on the other we have people drowning in boredom of what to do as entertainment and what to own next that creates their style statement...its truly a comedy of errors!!! In fact when my mentees and students ask me ... are we here to make a statement by virtue of our standard of living etc etc ...at times I feel even I have been guilty of chasing some of these mirages in life...

Today I am glad to have few happy clients I work with rather than being in need of more I could serve and expand my services...The hustle can get you more, at the cost of sanity!! Thus when I see people who are satisfied and leading a PEACEFUL life without the need for more or to PROVE their achievements... I feel they are the TRUE WINNERS = SUCCESS on their own terms!!

While writing my second book, 'Minimalist Vs Materialists' -A compilation of stories of simple yet successful people who really don't WAIT FOR THE GRADES of the world to accept their victory and they are gratified in their humble fulfilling existence. I started observing simple things that these minimalists do in their life to design their itinerary in this TRIP called life!!!

6 Simple MINDSET IDEAs to practice Minimalism:

  1. Desire to be connected to the COSMIC POWERS - One of the fundamental powers is to feel connected to nature and the universe. This can be accomplished through many things and one of them is Yoga. In fact, 'Yoga' as per the ancient scriptures is connection of the JIVATMA with the PARAMATMA ... which implies the union of individual consciousness with the universal consciousness which enables us to leverage our root of origination and minimise our needs to prove our worth through physical entities -awards -appreciation -amenities etc. When we are connected to the cosmic powers; life by itself is in the FLOW state, and every moment is satisfying.

  2. Freedom from HYSTERIA -Our world runs at a hysterical pace. We are too hurried, too rushed, and too stressed. We work long, passionate hours to pay the bills, or build empires or we have a need to do so!! We rush from one activity to another—even multitasking along the way—but never seem to get anything done. We remain in constant connection with others through our cell phones, but true life-changing relationships continue to elude us. Being a minimalist practitioner slows down life and frees us from this modern hysteria to live faster! It offers freedom to disengage. It seeks to keep only the essentials. It aims to remove the frivolous and keep the significant. It values the intentional endeavors that add value to life.

  3. Deliberate Canvas - At its core, being a minimalist means deliberately nominating things in the canvas, things which you feel are PRIORITY! Very often life's chores takes you astray if you are not deliberate about the shades, you would like to pick up... Thus its critical to figure what you really want to see on your canvas...Deliberation looks different for everybody, as no two individuals are the same, but it requires each of us to dive deeper and become more introspective about our values and passions.

  4. Daring to FOLLOW YOUR HEART - We are often dictated by the judgement of our environment and not our inner GPS which in turn lands us in phases we don't relate to. Daring to follow your heart in an age of free opinions showering from all sides, is difficult to adhere to. Not conforming to the best practices or the HERD mindset at times can leave you feeling that you missed out the best opportunities. How ready are you to dare to do something that doesn't confirm to the common elite. As you need to pick between minimalistic and elite which is more aligned to materialism...

  5. Authenticity Vs Duplicity - Although nobody intentionally chooses it, most people live in duplicity. They live one life around their family, one life around their co-workers, and another life around their neighbors. The lifestyle they have chosen requires them to portray a certain external image dependent upon their circumstances. They are tossed and turned by the most recent advertising campaign or the demands of their employer. However we can stick to authenticity rather than compliance and comfortable in our own skin. This helps us feel dependable and honest at all times...without any props.

  6. Align your lifestyle -Being a Successful practitioner of minimalism is possible only when you believe in the same and you want it as a lifestyle; rather than forcing yourself. Decluttering your personal-professional -internal or external life takes time, effort, and strong will power to implement and conduct yourself. When I adopted minimalist approach to life, a lot of things changed and it was conscious lifestyle change. Anything when a fad lasts only as a facade for a temporary time only! Thus the decision to adopt is totally personal and as per your own choices. Some of the quick changes that are evident in a minimalistic practitioner are -ELIMINATION of fancy indulging behaviors, endless buying spree, constant need for NEW, endless conversations without direction, need to own every gadget released, indulging and consuming too much of anything...!! Adopting a simple -meaningful -purposeful -thinking -planning - action -pursuit is the best way to slowly inculcate the minimalist lifestyle. Leading more of a SATTVIC life ...('Sattvic is derived from sattva (सत्त्व) which is a Sanskrit word. Sattva is a complex concept in Indian philosophy, used in many contexts, and it means one that is "pure, essence, nature, vital, energy, clean, conscious, strong, courage, true, honest, wise, rudiment of life". From Wikipedia)
